My name is Julia and I identify as a cis-gendered NZ/European and Cook Island female. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been interested in deep and meaningful conversations with people.

I also have a strong interest in travelling and learning from other people and cultures.

I am passionate about working with millennial women, and helping women feel good about themselves and I’m very curious about what makes us different, and how to embrace that uniqueness.

I genuinely believe that our relationship with ourselves is one of the most critical relationships in our lives. How we treat ourselves reflects how we allow others to treat us. That is why I created Her Therapy, where it is all about her, aka YOU because you are the priority at Her Therapy and all the love and care you give others, you deserve that too.

My Therapeutic Approach

The relationship between the therapist and the client is of great significance. That is why it is critical that we both feel that we are a good fit for working together, as research has shown that the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client is one of the key predictors of clients' progressing in therapy.

Therapy is a collaborative process. Your insights and experiences are crucial, and we'll work together to create a space where your needs are heard and honoured.

While I use an eclectic approach that integrates different therapeutic modalities, my therapeutic approach emphasises psychodynamic psychotherapy, I'm especially focused on your relationship with yourself and others and how this affects your sense of self and connection with others.

If you put the time and commitment into the therapy process, you will be transformed. I’m ready to invest in you, are you ready to invest in yourself?
